The novella gives insight into the trauma twenty-year-old Warner has to endure after coming so close to death multiple times, as well as his opening mindset, as he learns to forgo his usual cold and blocked-off personality and to embrace all the friendships he never knew he could have. Tahereh Mafi does an excellent job of describing the new world, the beautiful wedding, Warner’s troubling thoughts, and his relationship with Juliette and his friends, like Kenji (even though Warner would never admit that Kenji is his friend).
What Warner is not aware of is how deep Juliette’s love for him goes and how much she cares about their wedding… With Juliette now being the most famous heroine in the world, she has been distracted, so Warner experiences loneliness without the love of his life around all the time. However, with all the chaos of taking on the role of rebuilding the world after defeating the Reestablishment, it has been difficult for Warner and Juliette to have their wedding. The novella starts off from the last chapter of Imagine Me and shows Juliette and Warner preparing Juliette’s new and cheap wedding dress after Kenji accidentally destroyed her flawless, custom made dress. The captivating novella is told from Aaron Warner’s point of view and takes its readers through his struggles after saving the world with his team (Juliette Ferrars, Kenji Kishimoto, Nazeera Ibrahim, and the Sanctuary).
